These celebrations took place in 1913 to mark the
1000th anniversary of Aethalflaeda freeing the town
from the Danes and fortifying the town.There were special events and items to commemorate
this historic occasion.Some of the commemorative items can be seen at Tamworth Castle. These include a medal minted for the occasion and
a commemorative pottery bell, the Tamworth Herald also brought
out a souvenir book with photographs taken at the Pageant held in the castle grounds
