This is now closed
after over 115 years service and will be incorporated into housing development .It was
originally built in 1880 by the Reverend William MacGregor and
at first had six beds and just one nurse. Additions were made to this over a number
of years, including a wing donated by Mrs Hutton and by 1904
there were 5 nurses looking after 27 beds. When it first opened the hospital was supported
by members of the public , and if you needed treatment and could afford to pay then you
did so. This wonderful old building has now been gutted to form part of a new housing
development.
