This view of Bolebridge is taken from a postcard published by local newsagent C.Young he published various views of the town, his shop was situated in Victoria Road Tamworth. The viaduct in the background is known locally as the Nineteen Arches it was built to bring the railway into Tamworth and was opened in 1839.
In the past Bolebridge Street was very vulnerable to flooding and was often awash after heavy rains.The street is recorded in old town records as far back as 1316 when it was referred to by the name "bollebruggestrete" there was a narrow stone bridge across the river at this time.
