This extensive
collection of over 9000 local photographs covers every aspect of life in Tamworth and the
surrounding local villages in both Staffordshire and Warwickshire.
It has coverage of local industries,social life and events,disasters,buildings,local
people of note including Robert Peel and his home at Drayton Manor.Also covered are the lives of the ordinary people of
the town with many unique photographs being donated by local people.
Included in this wealth of photographs is the Cooke family collection, the Cooke family
were the last people to actually use Tamworth Castle as their home.
The whole collection is available for use by the public by prior appointment and copies of
any photograph may be obtained.(Subject to a small charge)
