Silver Street - Tamworth

Silver Street named for it's connection with the Tamworth Mint was in earlier times known as Lady Bridge Street or Ladybruggestrete as it was recorded in 1354. Silver Street was once home to a thriving community of small shops and businesses, the majority of which have now disappeared.
At the end of the street at it's junction with Lichfield Street stood one of Tamworth's many bygone pubs in this case The White Horse.The Tamworth Herald also once had it's offices in the street.
