George Street

George Street is a street that dates back the Middle Ages in former times it was known as Bullstake Street, because of the bullstake situated at it's junction with Colehill. The unfortunate bulls were tied to this stake and baited by dogs in the belief that this would make the meat tender, it was also regarded as sport by the townsfolk.
