An extremely popular site for wind surfing especially during the summer months.This lake is a relatively new addition to the recreational facilities that Tamworth has to offer.It was originally excavated in part of what used to be The Castle grounds in order to provide some of the construction materials for the road that runs alongside it.
More recently there has been an additional area excavated to add to the lakes value as a wildlife habitat.It supports many different species throughout the year and a leisurely walk around the lake is highly recommended if you get the chance.During the winter months the lake is a haven for birdlife giving a home to
